Awards

The SCHWIND company is among the most innovative medium-sized businesses in Germany. In 2008, it convinced through its systematic and successful innovation management in the renowned business comparison “Top 100” . The company’s achievements were recognized in the five central categories of  „Innovation-Promoting Top-Management“, „Innovation Climate“, „Innovative Processes and Organization“, „Innovation Marketing“ as well as „Innovation Success”.

The Medium-Sized Business Initiative – an independent jury consisting of scientists, branch experts and specialized journalists – awarded the German “Industriepreis 2008” to the SCHWIND AMARIS in the „Medical Technology“ category. All submitted contributions were evaluated on criteria such as innovative content, benefit and functionality.

The SCHWIND AMARIS was also granted the international Medical Design Excellence Award 2008 in Gold in the „Surgical Equipment, Instruments, and Supplies” category. In this competition, the benefits of a product for doctor and patient, the innovative power as well as the materials used to fabricate the product are evaluated equally. The SCHWIND AMARIS convinced the interdisciplinary jury through its excellent overall concept. 

For outstanding achievement in the field of industry and innovation, CEO Rolf Schwind received the Gusi Peace Prize 2008. The award is deemed to be the Asian pendant of the Swedish Nobel Prize, stated the Philippine President Gloria Macapagal- Arroyo in her greeting message. Each of the 15 prize winners were recognized for their exemplary, exceptional merits in categories such as medicine, physics, chemistry, economics, politics, or art. More than 1.490 candidates worldwide were nominated in 2008.

SCHWIND was among the winners in 2009 of the „365 Landmarks in the Land of Ideas“. The company was selected among more than 2000 applicants as an ambassador for the Land of Ideas, preparing Germany for the future with creativity and innovative power. Since 2006 the „Germany - Land of Ideas“ initiative carries out the competition under the patronage of Federal President Horst Koehler and in co-operation with the Deutsche Bank.
