Universal Council of Ophthalmology

As the youngest Iranian ophthalmologist who has been involved with laser vision correction technology from its first months in Iran in mid-90, justifies my motivation, as a lifetime learner, to provide my patients with premium medical and surgical services.
In this regard, I performed the first Single-step-TransPRK (Trans epithelial Photorefractive Keratectomy) in Iran in 2009. Unfortunately, just one publication on this OBSOLETE technique could be found in literature at that time. I started TransPRK and ignored all advice for sticking to conventional methods.

For a better understanding and sharing of our results on TransPRK, I founded the “international TransPRK research group” in 2009. From then on, we have been presenting our results in the most authentic ophthalmic events.
Considering the number of publications, presentations and talks on TransPRK done by us, indicates that the group has had the most contribution in promoting and directing researchers & ophthalmologists toward TransPRK, worldwide.

I also developed and introduced a modified version of TransPRK, known as “Refined TransPRK”. Based on several comparative studies, better outcomes, in term of quality and quantity, shown to be obtained in “Refined TransPRK“. Applying a postoperative regimen, known as “Iran Regimen”, which contributed to achieving better long-term results, is my other patent.

In 2016, I formed the “Universal Council of Ophthalmology”, ( U.C.O.) a new international platform for research.
