Latest HQ-Index with AMARIS® 1050RS as Front-Runner

The SCHWIND AMARIS 1050RS achieves undisputed and far ahead of the competing lasers the top position in the latest High Quality (HQ) Index by SCHWIND.

The frequently published index allows a systematic and objective comparison of all excimer laser systems offered on the market. The AMARIS 1050RS is the only laser that achieves the currently best attainable value of 250 points, followed by the AMARIS 750S with 206 points. The median value of all systems offered on the market is 144 points.

Decisive performance attributes

The HQ Index includes the decisive technological performance attributes as pulse rate in Hertz, sampling rate of the eye tracker in Hertz, number of static and dynamic dimensions of eye tracking, beam diameter in millimetres, as well as treatment time in seconds per dioptre. These attributes are weighted with a scoring equation. The latest Index includes, besides the SCHWIND AMARIS product family, the Nidek Quest from Nidek, Teneo 317 from Bausch & Lomb, Visx Star S4IR from AMO, Wavelight EX 500 from Alcon, and MEL 90 from Carl Zeiss Meditec. „The HQ Index aims at contributing to look beyond the usual commercial superlatives across the market and to rate the performance of the systems based on objective parameters and therewith enable more transparency in the market“, comments CEO Rolf Schwind.
